Schizophrenia, Bipolar Mood Disorder etc (M)

Schizophrenia is the most common psychotic condition. Schizophrenia can occur at any age but it tends to first develop between adolescence and young adulthood.

 Men tend to develop schizophrenia between the ages of 15-24. Paranoid schizophrenia may be more common in men, and symptoms tend to be more severe.

Negative symptoms

  • Lack of self confidence
  • Lack of emotions
  • Colorless speaking tones
  • Inappropriate reactions to events
  • A general loss of interest in life and ability to experience pleasure

Psychotic symptoms

  • Hallucinations
  • Delusions
